McCollough Medical Scholars Forum Feb 1-2 Register now, if interested

This year, the McCollough Medical Scholars Forum will be held in Shelby Hall on February 1-2 (two weeks from today). REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN. RSVP TO PREMED@UA.EDU NO LATER THAN MONDAY, JANUARY 28. The Forum will be held in the Rotunda of Shelby Hall.

For those unfamiliar with the program, the McCollough Forum is an annual event at The University. The Forum is open to UA students, faculty, staff, and members of the Tuscaloosa community. The program addresses topical issues in medicine and health care, and features keynote speakers from prominent members of the medical community.

This year, our speaker is Dr. Hayes Whiteside. Dr. Whiteside is a physician and currently serves as chief medical officer of a medical insurance company. His talks will provide valuable perspectives to premedical students, as well as those interested in health care policy, law, and reform.

ALL INTERESTED STUDENTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND!

The Forum is sponsored by Susan and Gaylon McCollough, both alums of The University. Dr. McCollough earned his bachelor’s degree at UA (and played center for one of Bear Bryant’s national championship teams) before going to UAB for medical school.

The agenda for the program is attached. Participation in the Forum is free and includes meals, notes, and several nice accessories.

For those in AED, participation in both days of the Forum will be worth THREE POINTS toward membership.

Again, if you have questions about the Forum or plan to attend, please respond to premed@ua.edu premed@ua.edu.
