There is no minimum guarantee. The cutoff point changes year by year depending on the qualifications of those who apply. The person who led the information session I attended stated that UT pretty much just stacks up the applicants by GPA and moves from top to bottom until they fill the number of open slots. There are small adjustments made for certain factors, but GPA is the overwhelming factor. A 3.6 historically has been enough but I believe one year it was 3.7. You never know. With the new +/- system, I would think the GPAs would go down but that is just my guess.

never aim for just the cut off GPA, the only sure way to transfer internally into mccombs is to get a 4.0, anything lower gives you no guarantee, but the closer to 4.0 you are the greater your chance of getting in, they accept about 200-300 internal transfers a year

ok so i just got back from the transfer orientation today. i attended the mccombs internal transfer session. Next year they are requiring ALL 4 business indicator classes for internal transfer even if you have less than 60 hours. And another major change was that they will be accepting only about 250 students next year for internal transfer. In the past it has been around 300 students. So yea 2 major changes for next year.

Edit: Oh and by the way the Orientation was awesome. UT really did a great job.

topawala, you were there yesterday?? I was too! I had to miss the business transfer info meeting though… do you think you can pm me with a short synopsis?

btw are you an econ major right now? If so then I was in your group yesterday without knowing it lol

My friend was accepted into McCombs, but he wants to transfer to Natural Science. Will it be hard for him to transfer back to McCombs if he decides science isn’t right for him?
