I am entering my sophomore year at a 4 year college and unfortunately missed the deadline for applying to University of Texas for sophomore year. I want to major in business, however, I plan on transferring in the spring, and I will not be able to apply as an internal transfer to McCombs in the fall because I need at least 24 hours at UT- Austin. I would wait till the fall but I do not want to wait a whole year before transferring and I don't think I will have the GPA to get in to McCombs externally. My GPA is still good, but the school is extremely selective. Is it possible to apply in the spring for UT COLA and then apply for internal transfer in the fall of 2013 if graduating in 4 years is not a major issue. I know that the web site said above 90 hours is the cut off, but I currently only have 28 and am able to remain under 90 by that point. Let me know if this idea makes sense or if it is crazy and a bit too risky. I really want to get a business degree, and I want to go to school at UT Austin as well.
