You won’t have a chance if your application has spelling errors like this post, 730? How? You spelled writing wrong!

Your class rank is going to make it tough to get into UT period. Although your sat might pull you in. Do you have any other ecs? Maybe some that are business related? The spelling only makes it tougher

I don’t think you’ll get into the McCombs. Your class rank is barley top 20 percent and they look for top 8 percent these days. With that said, you should go ahead and try. Just don’t misspell “McCombs” or “business” in your essays.

Good test scores. It’s really a reach for McCombs considering your class rank. You should get into the school itself, but there have been lots of 2100 SAT & top 20% being rejected lately. Just apply, you’ll never know.

Based on this year’s admittance to McCombs for freshman, I’d say you have a good chance of getting in simply because, here’s the strange part, you’re not in the top 10%.

According to their website (and my own experience), they admit 75% of their incoming freshman from the pool of applicants in the top 10% of their respective schools, based on their rank. So they admit everyone who was in the top 1%, then top 2%, then top 3%, etc., until they admit approximately 900 students.

For the other 300 students, they then look to those who applied but were not in the top 10% of their class. And this part of the admittance, for the most part, disregards rank.

So, given your good SAT score and decent GPA, I’d say you have a good chance of getting in.
