Has anyone ever heard of this class before? Meyer is the professor and he apparently doesn't have a bruinwalk rating. How is this class?

dunno about professor but the class sounds really exciting!

Yeah i know! Thats why I am thinking about taking it but I dont wanna be stuck with a ridiculous professor... so was wondering if anyone had taken him before

the professor is new to ucla...i was talking to the mcdb counselor bout this class

I see, any recommendations by your counselor?

I took it spring 07 with another professor Tarleton. I'm not a science person, though i am interested in the ethical and public policy issues that go with it. The class was very interesting--a third is bio, a third normative ethics, and a third public policy discussions. If you're someone majoring in a life science ,you'll have no problem, and if you're someone majoring in other things you'll be fine as well. We also got to watch two of my favorite movies and write about them(Blade Runner and GATTACA). Anyway, I highly recommend it.

abraxas, is the class a lot of work?

No, not really. Some short written assignments, a midterm, a paper you do with a partner, and a final. Then again, a different professor might do it differently--but it shouldn't be a really hard class if you do the reading.

Hey, so did anyone take this class with Meyer?

I'm currently taking MCD BIO 40 with Meyer... she is perfectly fine as a professor. Nothing to worry about. She's nice and isn't boring or anything.
