McDaniel College

Hi,
I was wondering if there are any new thoughts on McDaniel? The comments I have seen so far are from 2007.
Thanks.

I’m curious, as well. My son has developed a great interest in the school (I’m sure it has nothing, NOTHING to do with the campus golf course) and we will be visiting, but I am also interested in any comments.

I know of 3 students currently there, and 2 grads who are about 30 now. Both 30yr olds have done well in life-one won a major math award and went on to funded grad school, other is a very good teacher. Students currently there were B+ students in hs and seemed to like McDaniel just fine. One current student has adhd and his parents are very happy with support services for him. That’s about all I can contribute

Thank you marylandfour! Do you know anything about the area?

I have never been to Westminster, but hear it is a quaint town with a Main Street, several small restaurants/pizza joints and some antique shops. So it is not a college completely out in the boonies, and has shops a bike ride away. It is not close to Baltimore city or the airport-about 1 hour away.

It is in a beautiful town, lots of horse farms surrounding it. Not urban in any way.

Not rural in any way either. Baltimore Boulevard, which connects Westminster with the Baltimore beltway via Reisterstown and Owings Mills, is lined with the usual suburban strip clutter, big box stores and “house farms” on the outskirts of town. The historic downtown is very nice, and the campus looks down from a small hill on Main Street. Nice little college town.
