McDonough @ Georgetown or Carroll @ BC

I've been accepted at both schools and I'm considering Accounting, Management, or International Business (which BC doesn't have)... but maybe Finance if thats were the business path leads.

If I'm paying 50k for college, I'd really prefer the whole experience... not only in college but after, such as job placement. I'm assuming both of these will offer a really challenging academic atmosphere, but if I'm wrong please share!

Any opinions would help!!!
Help please ! =) Thanks.

Carroll is ranked higher than McDonough by some rankings, and both supply a great education. However, Georgetown is a more prestigious university overall and provides better prospects for summer internships/jobs and first jobs after graduation. Your career is what you make of it, but if I were ever laid off, I would rather have Georgetown than BC on my resume.

Is that really a question? Seriously?

I failed to mention earlier that I’m accepted to Carroll Honors…, and yes, its a question. Clearly you should enlighten me on why you think the answer is so apparent.

The answer is apparent by simply taking into account some relative measures of Georgetown versus BC. Georgetown has a T-14 law school, a Financial Times top 20 MBA school, a well regarded medical school, the number one rated International Affairs school by Foreign Policy magazine, and something like two dozen Truman scholars. Its alumni list includes a recent President and a current Supreme Court Justice as well as several current Heads of State. While BC is a great school with a top 25 law program, a top 35 or so MBA program, a past Presidential nominee and several Massacusetts congressmen, it is not on the same plane as Georgetown. When you are going for a general management or business job, the Georgetown degree carries more weight because of the strength of the university IMHO.

Thank you for answering!!! Very, very helpful!

mcdonough’s rankings keep slipping and carroll is ranked high anyways. i know rankings arent everything but id pick carroll.
