Mcdonough v UVA Echols

Hey I recently got off the waitlist for Georgetown. I also got echols at UVA and am already committed there. I live in Cville. Both come out to the same cost because of financial aid. UVA McIntire is ranked ridiculously high and Gtown is ranked in the 20s, but Gtown is obviously Gtown. Any input?

If you’re going into business, let’s put it this way:

MSB Median Salary: $60,000 (tied for 2nd)
McIntire median Salary: $55,000 (tied for 8th)

Of course, to be completely fair, finance is Georgetown’s strongest program, so it drives up their median salary quite a bit. Try to look at each school’s specialties, what kind of job do you want after college? Also, even though Georgetown’s student:faculty ratio is more than double McIntire, you’ll still have to go through the humongous core intro classes.

Still, both are excellent universities, I don’t think you can regret choosing either.

I was in exact same situation when I was choosing, it was between Georgetown MSB, UVA Echols, and Duke (and then Duke and Georgetown).

UVA has a solid program, but from what I hear the class sizes can be huge. Also think about it this way. Echols means you’re the top 10% of the applicants right? Whereas, you just got off the wait list at Georgetown. I think you know what I’m getting at… just one way to think about things…

Just because you were waitlisted does not mean that you aren’t in the top 10% of the applicant pool. If they admitted solely based on GPA, no one in the second quarter of applicants of any of most of the top 30 would not be let in.
