I was accepted EA to both gtown MSB and UVA. I plan on studying finance and ultimately want to work on Wall Street---investment banker, broker, or M & A lawyer.

I wanted to hear some opinions on which is a better choice.

From what I've read, most lean McIntire, even though its job placement percent (82) is lower than MSB's 90%. Also, starting salary is 60,000 at UVA compared to 65k at gtown.

Im waiting on Duke as well, and input on all three would be great! Thanks!

Between Georgetown and UVA, I would say UVA has the better business school. Although Duke doesn’t have a business school, it does have an economics major with a concentration in finance. So out of all three, Duke is the best overall school, but if you do want to specifically study business during college then I would say UVA is the best option.

thanks for the input, leaning towards gtown in the end though. I feel like the reputation of both is so good that its almost irrelevant to wonder about haha

My S was in the same situation last year (also considered ND). Search old threads as there were other students in the identical position.

My S had a major concern about getting admitted to McIntire at the end of this 2nd year and whether the “weed-out” classes freshman and sophomore year would require him to study full-time and not be able to take advantage of the social life at UVA.

UVA and Georgetown are both fantastic and you will love either place. My S chose Georgetown / MSB and he couldn’t be happier.

Both schools will provide excellent opportunities for you. Make your decision based on where you would enjoy spending your time-in a small campus, large urban setting or in a large campus, rural area setting?

Often, the contacts you make at a school offer you the most opportunities regionally based, but while that may be true here, you are not limited by the geographics of UVA/McIntire or Gtown/McDonough, in my opinion. Both are respected and recognized widely.

Duke is an excellent school as well so you really need to make your choice based on which environment is most comfortable for you and what the finances will be, if that is a consideration. Fit is a two way road and any of these three will open many doors for you.
