McDonough

how hard is it to get into McDonough Business school at Georgetown....?
with a 3.83-3.85 gpa (unweighted) and good ecs and leadership positions such as one of the newspaper editors and debate team captain what sat score would give me a good shot?

is it harder or easier to get into than nyu (stern)?

I was kind of wondering the same thing....my son has about the same GPA, is 15 of 575 and did 1450 / 2230. Somehow, I think that McD at G-Town is a real reach for him.

i mean i know i am the one asking the question, but i feel like mcdonough at gtown would be a good shot for him cause its supposadely less selective than stern and sterns median sat is 1440 i think your son woul dhav ea good shot

Hi Strat. I would have thought that G-Town is more selective than NYU. I know some colleagues who graduated NYU for their MBA...enjoyed the program. I work downtown NYC and near NYU quite often - - on the whole though, I'd rather go to school, if I could do it over, in DC. Good luck to you.

on the whole georgetown is better than NYU, but i know based on the rankings that the stern business school undergrad program is better than the gtown one (business weekly rankings)

McDonough has somewhat lower standards for admission than the College/SFS. It is probably slightly easier to get into than Stern, but it's still Georgetown so it's tough. I would guess MBJ's son has a great chance.

haha brand 182

Thanks brand. I appreciate your kind thoughts. My son likes the DC area lot; probably more so that NYC ( perhaps because we live near NYC and have been there so much ). G-Town is high on his list along with GW, Lehigh...
some state universities as back up ( UMd, Penn State, ..). Hard to find some other good quality reachable private business schools....the search continues. Best of luck. Marc
