McGhee Division? Hard to get accepted?

Is there anyone that found this difficult and what's the quality of education compared to the actual NYU or is it just the same thing? I was told NYU will consider a list of things and not just GPA or SATs. I haven't really applied to colleges in a long time. 10 years to be exact? I don't know if a 3.3 GPA and possibly 1800+ SATs are good enough. I've been living overseas in the Philipipnes the last year so I can't legally work and I haven't studied much to save my benefits. I had some family priority isues to handle in tending my child so I gave up a good 4 years of my life to commit to him. The most I could do is volunteer at JCI and was eventually assigned a Director of Individual Development position overseeing membership recruitment policy/methods and those applied to retention as well. I also volunteered at any disaster relief effort they held in the city for the typhoons in Mindanao or Luzon. I have veteran status too. There are other accomplishments I can list but it's from back in high school.

Is McGhee that tough to get into if I put a good application packet together with a strong essay? I was told to try NYU because they sometimes accept unique students based on strong character that are tenacious hard working as well as have indomidable determination. I have had the chance to really immerse in a full college education till now but I've done ok handling a lot of external issues in life. Will they consider this? I'm being really surface level on what I actually went through and the whole story.

My VA Counselor thinks I'll get bored with a regular college and blaze through it.

SCPS is made for adult students who want to go back to school. So they will be used to applications like yours.

Paul McGhee is merely the name for the ‘school’ within SCPS that offers liberal arts studies.

Is it that tough to get into? No. It is not the same as NYU’s usual undergraduate schools such as CAS, Tisch, Stern, Steinhardt, etc. Nor will it carry as much prestige as NYU’s standard undergraduate schools.

SCPS is more professionally focused and less academically focused, and I believe, most classes will be offered at night since many students work full time while attending SCPS - as it is an adult school. As such, it will not be as academically challenging as NYU’s other undergraduate schools.

They let almost anyone in. You shouldn’t have a problem.

So I heard…66%? That’s what an admissions counselor told me. It still sounds selective.

66% is not selective.
