McGill Acceptance Decisions Class 2024 (Entering 2020)

Application status : In Review ( still…)
Faculty : Counselling Psychology Master’s
International student. Anyone in the same boat?
Extremely apprehensive!

Concordia’s deadline is March 1st. You can make it if you want to apply.

Last night we received a letter by email confirming that our daughter was admitted into the Computer Engineering program. Decision pending for Bioengineering which is her first choice. We are very excited!

This may be a bit late but I remember how much these posts helped me when I was waiting for a decision. Good luck to everyone who hasn’t heard back yet! Also as a side note, I see a lot of people on here with 35-36 ACTs and 3.9-4.0 GPAs, but I honestly think that is way overkill for McGill and I wouldn’t worry about getting in if your scores are closer to mine. I honestly didn’t think I would get into the BA&BSc program because of my ACT score but they admitted me probably about 4 or 5 school days after I sent in my mid-year transcript, so don’t sweat it if your scores aren’t perfect, especially if you take the hardest classes your school offers!

-Accepted to both BA and BA&BSc programs (sometime around mid January)
-US High School (all courses I took were IB though, mostly HL)
-UW GPA: 3.81
-ACT 31 (English 34, Math 29, Reading 35, Science 26, and on a different test I got 32 on science though)
-SAT 1270 (Reading/Writing 620, Math 650) *I did not send my SAT score
-No Entrance Scholarship

International Applicant with a 43 in IB, 35 in the ACT, 800 in Math II.

Still at ready for review:(

Hi, same here! I am an international student with a 42 in IB but I applied December 15th and my status still says ready for review.

Does anyone know how long it usually takes to receive a decision after the portal switches to “reviewed-descison pending”?

hey! I’m in the same situation where I am an international student completing the IB diploma. My scores aren’t as high as yours but still competitive (40) and still says ready for review ;( However, most of the other applicants I saw that have been accepted are US high schools so maybe international students get reviewed later. Not really sure.

Kinda getting worried because I am a US HS student, yet it still says “further review required.” I submitted my semester grades exactly two weeks ago…

Hi, I’m following the french baccalaureate, applied on January 6th and still on “Ready for review” for both of my Science & Engineering department applications.

Hey, I was accepted to Faculty of Arts BA, and Inter-faculty BA&Sc as an International student!!

Any idea if they tell about minor one-time scholarship along with acceptance, or after they review major-entrance sholarship application??

P.S. my offer letter has no mention about scholarships, and my portal just shows that major-entrance scholarship is in-process (under the financial aid tab).

Hey @HelloWorld123! I’m pretty sure the scholarships are separate from the acceptance (as in they do not have to come along with the acceptance). I think it takes a bit longer for scholarships to be processed. I’m in the same situation as you right now!

submitted app mid-january w/ extenuating circumstances. anybody know when I should hear?

@emilyvescio Extenuating circumstances take longer due to need to verify the information.

@tyjoseph
Yeah, I probably think so. I was just worried cuz I saw a couple of gyz getting minor scholarships along with their acceptance, or within a day. One of them also applied for Major Scholarships, tho not sure about second one.
Let’s see what they’re up to xD… Congrats for acceptance, and good luck on your scholarship decision :slight_smile:

@HelloWorld123
DS heard back on his entrance (minor) scholarship within 3 days of acceptance and just heard back from his major scholarship application a week and half ago. He was accepted in mid January to McGill. Hope that helps.

@SwimmingDad
@Mdoost

Also from Boston area. DS got in early in the cycle as well - both B of A and combined BofA and BofSc. 90% sure he will land there in the fall.

We are right there with you, my daughter submitted her mid year grades over two weeks ago and no news. Still says FRR.

For reference:
Daughter has an ACT 33, 3.9 GPA applying to Faculty of Arts. Dual Citizen

@Jolie1 @yumam1 We are also in the same situation, uploaded over 2 weeks ago and still at FRR. US applicant, dual citizen.

As a note, I know a couple of people who also applied to McGill and made this mistake: It’s important (if you are international especially) to make sure you upload a PDF of your transcript directly through your McGill Minerva account under upload documents. I know people who have told their counselors to send in their transcripts, but McGill doesn’t accept official transcripts from your counselor until you committed and send in your full year transcript. If you are waiting on a decision and know you didn’t upload your transcript yourself it might be worth checking on. Another thing they do is that they don’t see ACT scores that are sent to them before you apply. I had to send my scores a bunch of times because of this, so that is also worth noting if there aren’t any test scores showing up on your Minerva account.
