helloo, i'll be a junior next year at a pretty difficult private school. i spent the last few weeks in montreal with friends and absolutely loved mcgill, it's now my dream school, can anyone help me figure out what i need to get in? i gpa is currently like 3.7-3.8, i don't know we have a different scale but somewhere around there. my school doesn't rank b/c it's so competitive, but can anyone help me figure out what sort of act or sat score i will need? or anything else to help me get admitted? oh and i am taking 2 APs next year, probably 3 the year after that, and i have a massive amount of service, like 8 service trips and almost 200 extra hours already. k well if you can help me thaanks a million.

McGill is a very excellent school with high admissions standards. To answer your question, I would guess that you would need an ACT score somewhere between 28 and 32 to get serious consideration. Or an equivalent SAT score.

Canadian universities have cut-off marks for the faculty of arts and science, for the faculty of science and the faculty of commerce. They vary from faculty to faculty with science being more difficult than a & s. It also varies from year to year depending on quality of applicants. Students are judged more by mark than extracurriculars or service. Generally the higher your school marks, the better your chances of admission. Check the McGill website for last year’s cut-off marks and next year’s will be more or less the same. You must also decide which faculty you wish to apply to.
