Ok, so i’m a little confused about McGill’s admissions policy. Iv’e heard that it’s modified rolling admissions… is this true and is it anything like a typical U.S. rolling admissions? And if so is it better to get my application in ASAP or wait until January? I can’t find any info about this on their corn maze of a website. (BTW i’m applying as an undergrad from a US high school.)
It’s vaguely like rolling admissions. No matter how early you send in your application, you won’t get a response until about January at the earliest. They come on a rolling basis from January to April. Admissions are pretty much automatic though, so if you meet the guidelines for American students on their website you will most likely be accepted and if you don’t you for sure will get rejected (it’s a slightly different system up there- extracurricular, etc are not considered; only grades and test scores are).
Also after the release date decisions come out randomly, regardless of when you completed your application. The closer you are to the minimum requirements the longer you will wait.
You’ll hear back any time from January all the way through April- it can be frustrating to have such a big time frame of when you could hear back, but be patient and hang in there.
