Hi everyone,

I recently applied to the Faculty of Engineering for Mechanical Engineering (I want to explore aeronautical engineering). As a backup, I applied into the Faculty of Engineering once again but instead for computer science, which requires a B+ average instead of an A- average like Mechanical Engineering.

From what I've heard, I know McGill basically accepts or declines applicants based on whether or not they meet the requirements. I was wondering what my chances were for being accepted into these faculties based on what I have..

I'm applying from the US, and I have French citizenship (So I'd pay the Quebec tuition!)
Unweighted GPA: 3.741
Weighted GPA: 6.816
Class Rank: 15/320
ACT: 29, (30 superscore, I sent both. My composite for my second ACT however was a 28.)
Currently this year I'm taking AP Biology(1rst semester grade: A), AP French (A+), AP Government(A), AP Physics(B+), Honors Calculus(B+) and English(A+).

I definitely have the B+ average to get into the computer science program and the obvious ACT score, however my sophomore year I got a C+ in Honors Algebra II. I had all A's/A+'s and one B+. Then my junior year I had an A in Precalc, A+ in French IV, A in Physics, B+ in AP Chemistry, B+ in Honors US History and B in AP Language & Arts.

I'm kind of fluttering around but I think I should have around an A- average if you take in the weight of my courses, which have ALWAYS been honors or AP except for junior year I took academic precalc.

My question is will I get in for Mechanical Engineering, and if not should I send in another application for the faculty of arts or something and transfer to engineering or is that not worth doing?

Any help is appreciated, McGill is my top choice since I'd pay almost no money to go there because of my French citizenship, plus I adore Montreal and I speak both English and French fluently.
