McGill Chances with 1300 SAT, 3.7 GPA, 600 SAT Subject Tests

Hi There,

I know these scores are above the minimum for McGill arts, but are they enough to actually get in?

Anyone with score like these got into McGill?

The minima on the McGill website are for 2016 and are the old SAT. The 2017 minima with the new SAT cutoffs will be posted in September. Is the 3.7 unweighted? That is what McGill uses.

Yes, 3.7 UW.

These are not my actual scores, I’m just trying to figure out if people just slightly above the minima are guaranteed to get in.

People just slightly above the minima are not guaranteed to get in. The minima change from year to year.

Is your SAT score on the new or old SAT? For 2017 the minima are stated for both old and new. For Arts:

OLD SAT I:
Crit Read & Writing 650, Math 620

NEW SAT I:
EB Read & Writing 700, Math 640

SAT IIs: 650 in each subject

The SAT score above was just an example. Not my actual score. I am hoping to get at least 750 in EB Reading and Writing and 700 in Math. Hoping my SAT II’s are at least 700.

As far as my grades go, in Grade 10 out of 9 courses I had 4 A+ (97-100%) 4 A (95-96%) and 1 C (75% in French unfortunately…)

My overall average was 94%. (Since we use percent to calculate and I had a bunch of high 90’s.)

I am hoping to keep my Grade 11 and Grade 12 straight A’s.

If I can keep my grade 11 and 12 grades high and get good SAT scores, will the 1 C in grade 10 have a negative effect on my application?

Any insights appreciated.
