How is the reputation of McGill in the US, particularly with grad schools (is it a good feeder for the best American business, law and medical schools?) and US employers. In terms of prestige, educational quality, and resources, how does it compare to the US top 25? Would it make the US news top 25 were it an American institution? And if it did, which school is it comparable to? Just wondering and curious, sorry about the massive amounts of questions.

The reputation is actually quite good, especially for business. Not sure how it would match up to US schools, but it's safe to say that McGill would probably be competitive with some of the US schools in the top 25. I live in the US, so a lot of people I know don't know VERY much about McGill, but the name is well-known in the business world.

My husband does IT consulting for some large mulitnational companies, travels a lot. When he tells colleagues (who are from various countries) where my son is applying, they are impressed by both McGill and UToronto. His peers are less impressed, not familiar with Canadian schookls, and he goes to a small school that prizes acceptances to LAC's like Bowdoin, Barnard, Williams etc.

For what it's worth, The Times of London publishes an annual report
ranking the top 200 Universities in the world. McGill is ranked 24th in the
world this year and 13th in North America.

The report is available on their web site as a pdf file. You have to join, but there is a free two week trial, so you can grab it. Or send me a message and I can e-mail it to you.
