I was accepted to Desautels and Arts in early January, but haven’t yet heard from Sciences or Interfaculty Arts & Sciences yet. I have very strong grades (4.3), ACT- 34 composite, and lots of APs with honors. Not sure what the delay is, do you?
@greeksalad123: Desautels has a much higher average requirements overall. Unless you have weakness in Science grades, you should get accepted there too. McGill looks at unweighted grades first and foremost, so if you take only APs, they might not be as impressed with your grades. Finally, Canadian schools typically look more at the top/best 4-6 subjects that include prerequisites for each faculty so if you have Bs in the wrong subjects it could impact your acceptance… For example, if you apply to business or sciences and have a horrible grade © in History, that is not an issue. However, Bs in Math could be fatal for business and science faculties but still fine for Arts.
Who knows if they move admission officers around between International, US, QC, ONT, rest of Canada applications. They might be working things in waves too.
I submitted my mid year grades in the beginning of february and within a day my status had been updated to “Reviewed-Decision Pending”. Does anyone know if my grades had not meet their standards if I would have been rejected already at this point?
@abbylevy That means that you are close to where they think the cut off will be this year for that Faculty. If you were clearly below they would have rejected your application.

@lai18972 Same. I applied on November 4 and submitted my interim grades mid December and my status still is “ready for review”
@abbylevy I’m in the same situation. Did you take SATs or ACTs?
I’ve noticed that many of the people who have been accepted to Arts from the U.S. have mostly similar stats as me, except they took the ACT instead of the SAT I & IIs. Is this possibly why I do not have a decision as of yet?
@Rukoki I am super happy to see that some people are having the same problem as me. I applied to the ingram school of nursing for McGill in early December. I know Nursing programs here and all over the world are extremely competitive but I am super hopeful and motivated. I have a small extenuating circumstance because I am both a junior and a senior in HS in the US right now which makes me think my decision could also be taking longer because of that. I am graduating a year early by doubling up in classes. I don’t have grades for all the classes I am taking yet but my status was changed to Reviewed - Decision Pending. It makes me super anxious as this is my number one choice college and I’m in love with the campus and Montreal. In case you were wondering my GPA is about a 3.9 and my ACT scores were 29 in Science, 27 in Reading, 21 in English and 25 in Math, overall a 25 composite score, sadly below their average. I hope you get accepted soon! The waiting is killing me so I can totally relate.
@Rukoki In the same boat. Got Reviewed-Decision Pending status at end of January and it has not budged. I sent in SAT/SAT IIs, not ACT. I took the ACT (30) but liked my SAT score more (1480). Wondering now if I should send in my ACT score to push this thing along. I don’t want to be in limbo with McGill until May.
@Rukoki I’m also in the same Decision Pending status and have been for about a month. I reported SAT/SAT II scores. I don’t know if it’s just a coincidence but I’m starting to lose hope at this point.
i’m an international student (non-us and non-canadian) i applied to McGill University Faculty of Arts around November and my status is “Ready for Review” since then. I check Minerva regularly but there is nothing yet. More than a week ago, I uploaded my mid-year report but that didn’t change anything yet, as it did with some other people. I’m thinking maybe it’s because i didnt upload any SATs or ACTs, because I’m an International Baccalaureate student and that’s what I’m applying with. Along with TOEFL… My GPA is ranked out of 100 so i don’t know how it translates to a scale over 5 but over 100, my GPA is above 90.
Anyone have the same problem of “Ready for Review”?
Hi!
Are decisions emailed or are they posted on Minerva without any “change of status” email ?
@ryukkane same problem here. International Student (non-US) and it says “ready for review” since December or something. But I did send my SAT and ACT scores. Not an IB Student.
@booknerd99 (I have the Same question) how will we find out about the change of status? Do we check or do we get an email? Accepted students please reply!
@booknerd99; @intstudent2021: It should first post to Minerva and then (a few hours or days later) you will get an email that is telling you check the portal. The portal will have the PDF of your acceptance letter(s).
