@Lins99 Haha no worries I’ve been admonished too.
According to what I’ve read on McGill’s website, you need a minimum score of 21 in each of the four sections, however it also states that in some cases, applicants whose level of English proficiency falls slightly below the requirement may be considered for conditional admission, provided that they complete English courses at the Center for Continuing Studies during the Summer session. I’ll pray for you on this one, I had to take the TOEFL in a bad scene too (special note to the TOEFL’s Speaking section, also known as “The mess”).
@Haderisme I had 25 at the speaking section, I’m sure about that, but i really can’t remember at which one I got 20… all the others I got more than 21, are they gonna be strict just about one particular section? really?
Hahahha thank you so much !
Oh gosh, do I really have to attend the summer session? I mean, If i get a conditional admission (which I pray for), can’t I take the toefl again and send them my scores so I don’t have to attend a summer session? what do u think?
Been stuck at Reviewed-Decision Pending for a month now. Was Accepted into U of T yesterday with entrance scholarship.

Still nervous about McGill!!! Anyone else on Reviewed, decision pending???
@steminem4122 , I completed my student profile for U of T and sent all my document by Jan 28…
So when do u think my decision will be released…
@Lins99 I frankly have no idea about their policy on the TOEFL but from what I’ve read, you must attend the English courses I’ve told you about to get admitted. And no, unfortunately you can’t retake it because the deadline for submitting additional documents, TOEFL included, is March 15th.
I’ll pray for you, I just got admitted today in Electrical Engineering and Commerce so it’s just a matter of days before you get an answer, considering the fact that top academic students get an answer first.
If you’re getting anxious, just send them an e-mail and, in the worst case, request to add extenuating circumstances and explain why your scores don’t depict your actual English proficiency.
@Lins99 I frankly don’t know much about their policy on the TOEFL examination, but from what I’ve read, you will have to attend the English courses I’ve told you about to get admitted for Fall 2017.
Regarding your question : no, you can’t take it a 2nd time because the deadline for submitting additional documents, TOEFL included, is March 15th.
I’ll pray for you, I just got my admission letters today (Engineering & Commerce, submitted all the documents two weeks ago) and I believe it’s just a matter of days before you get an answer too; top academic students get an answer first.
If you feel anxious about this, just send them an e-mail or, in the worst case, request to add extenuating circumstances and explain why your scores don’t depict your language proficiency.
I took the internet based toefl and the minute I pressed start I had a major anxiety attack, therefore couldn’t finish the first section properly and my overwall performance was reduced…
My grade was 19/28/29/28, which you can totally understand considering the story… so I sent McGill a letter of extenuating circumstances and my application is under further review rn (for other reasons - I’m on a gap year so they asked for some info)… so my guess is that they’re fine with my 19 although I’m two points below requirement… And I don’t see summer courses like a likely outcome in my case… will update tho! @Lins99
Thank you! Graduating from Lebanon!
@Eylond I was really sick that day, and I took the exam in another city than mine which is 6h away from where I live, so not only I had to travel just before the exam but also i got sick the exact same day
I wanted to explain that in a letter, but there’s no space available on minerva to write that, they only asked for my transcripts and TOEFL scores only so how can I do that? And do you think I still have time to send it to them ?
@kingfuzz I’ve been on reviewed-decision pending for nearly 2 months now…I applied early October for engineering and I am an international student…
We can just cross our fingers now…good luck!
@Lins99 hey, just saying, i don’t think you need to worry about emailing them or whatsoever because if they were to reject you, i don’t think 1 point of your TOEFL score would be the cause of it. Even though, let’s say they rejected you and you think its because of your TOEFL score and not anything else, you can request a reconsideration to the Admissions Office stating that you were sick the day you took your TOEFL test and you want your application to be reconsidered.
But if you still feel anxious about it, you might as well e-mail them, as @Haderisme suggests, and ask if that would affect your admission process. best of luck!
@ryukkane I think it’s the only problem in my application, cuz they only ask for TOEFL scores and transcripts from 11 and 12 grade for french baccalaureate students, and my grades are way above the minimum (which is around 14.5/20 and I have between 17.5 and 18)
or they can reject me if they don’t have enough “space” like they said on their website so i don’t know, i really feel anxious about not being accepted even if i have pretty excellent grades just because i’m one point under the minimum required for one specific section… that stresses me, really
keep me updated!! i’ll do the same!
Finally received an acceptance last night after waiting 5 long months!!
Bachelor of Arts
IB: 41/42 predicted
ACT: 32
SAT Subject Test Math II: 800
SAT Subject Test Literature: 660
TOEFL: 120
No scholarship details received yet though
@Lins99 Just call the admissions office and explain the situation…The lady will advise you what’s best but i assume she’ll just add the option to add a letter of extenuating circumstances to your checklist… hope it all turns out well!
@Clarkell Still waiting. I just sent my portfolio about two weeks ago too. How long did it take for them to get it? I’m in the US.
Does anyone know when the decisions regarding entrance scholarships and major renewable scholarships will be released? Mine has said “in-process” since I submitted the application.
The nightmare of waiting has finally ended!
Accepted to the faculty of arts!!
@Eylond congratulations! that’s great news. could you please share your objectives? and also, did you apply for any scholarship or aid? just trying to prove my “i still didn’t get a decision because i applied for scholarship. it takes more time” hypothesis…
Congratulations!! What were your stats? if you don’t mind me asking.
