Anybody get off RDP status for the Faculty of Arts and Science or the Faculty of Science in the past week. This process is excruciating.
@ap828 How do you know it is after?
He doesn’t, RDP means they haven’t announced a decision yet. Waitlisted is a decision.
TomSrofBoston any thoughts based on past experience if this year is any different. Meaning, is being on RDP status in late April indicative of anything or is this typical?
For Americans it would be unusual. For Canadians and overseas students, not unusual.
When would you say is the best time to call admissions? Maybe at 10 am (local time)?
Toots69. You are so right. So excruciating
Anyone still at Ready for Review? Does this mean rejection, or should I try calling them??
@ghvan99 I am. To which faculty did you apply to? Where are you from?
Mine still says Further review required after submitting
predicted grades for my BGCSE (which surprisingly were not good. Those were the last documents requested by McGill. )
Utoronto
York
UCSD
UCSC
Bristol University
Kings College London,
University College London
Oxford Brookes University
Elmira College (with $100,000 Scholarship)
But I don’t know why I find myself drawn to McGill
Need to make a decision soon as condition for receiving government Scholarship.
I’m confused.
I don’t know if McGill rejects you on poor predicted grades on give conditional acceptance pending final results based on the strength of your completed qualification?
I have already received offers from the following schools
Utoronto (Canada)
York (Canada)
UCSD (US)
UCSC (US)
Loyola University Chicago
Bristol University (UK)
Kings College London, (UK)
University College London (UK)
Oxford Brookes University (UK)
University of St Andrews (UK)
Elmira College with $100,000 Scholarship (US)
But I don’t know why I find myself drawn to McGill
Need to make a decision soon as condition for receiving government Scholarship. I have to submit the names of two schools before 30/March/2017
I’m confused.
Which is the more difficult program at McGill, Faculty of Science BSC or Arts & Sciences?
Difficult to be admitted? Desautels. Or do you mean difficult coursework.
@TomSrOfBoston Difficult coursework and/or difficult course load requirements. It seems acceptance to Faculty of Science is more difficult but an Arts & Sciences degree at McGill requires more credit hours and more specific courses. Is this true?
So… I have just been rejected from engineering
They made me wait 4 months to tell me my rejection (due to academic requirements not met) I don’t really understand why they took so much time…If my academic requirements were not met, why not reject me when they saw my application for the first time in January? I don’t really know…
I am French but live in America and I am doing IB. I think that I got rejected because my predicted IB grades are lower than the mcgill averages for engineering ( which are quite high) . I am a little disappointed but I am still waiting for the U of T decision… let’s hope it’s positive!
I wish the best of luck to anyone still waiting and being so patient on rdp
I think that the standards have changed this year, a guy from my school last year got waitlisted ( also for engineering) with a weaker academic profile that I had who got rejected… Is the bar higher this year?
Does anyone have an opinion on this?
@clemeverst McGill had a 22% increase in applications from the US and a 25% increase in overseas applications. Not sure what the yield will be though. Most engineering programs had very high cutoffs already.
25%increase from US
my gpa and sat are higher than Mcgill’s average but my SAT Lit score is only 20 points higher than last year’s cutoff. Can this hold me back? I’m on RDP for three months…
