McGill Decisions Class of 2021 (entering 2017)

I’m also applying to Arts as a transfer from a U.S. university.
3.67 GPA
Junior/Senior HS GPA is 3.98/4. Lots of APs/Honors. I really really want to go there :((

@mirenswtg you haven’t received a decision yet?
3.43 GPA (messed up my first year)
HS GPA 4/4. 6 APs

Same boat as you - really want to move to Canada. Already got accepted at UoT for BBA - but that’s the Scarborough campus, which based on reviews, is not nearly as nice as St George

@PEEPSMATES can you tell me what is needed to apply for a transfer ? Do they look at both high school and freshman grade ?

@Soso123 http://www.mcgill.ca/applying/requirements/university

@TomSrOfBoston thanks.

@PEEPSMATES Nope, sadly. Apparently they’re late for all types of applicants, so I’m not losing all hope just yet. Lol. Scarborough is pretty close to Toronto though! Which is really cool. I got accepted to UBC Arts several months ago but decided to not to go because it was rather expensive + really hard to find housing and my heart is set on McGill anyway. Also didn’t want to lose the 1000$ deposit. But I guess if I don’t get in I’ll have to go back to my U.S. school, which is not that bad anyway.

Anyone still on the waitlist? I’m an international student, is it too late now to get QAC and study permit? If not, when would it be?

Peep – maybe contact the Office of International Students at McGill? They should be able to tell you if the time you have left is enough to obtain both if you are accepted. As a US citizen, it took my daughter about 5 weeks to obtain the CAQ and she is able to obtain her study permit when she crosses the border versus applying for that online (which has its own timeline).

Anyone still on the waitlist for engineering?

Hi, still on the waitlist for biology. I havent heard anything back. Does anyone contact the admission?

@anomous I did (by email), they basically told me to keep waiting and that there is nothing I can do about it…

Just got accepted off the waitlist. Anything new?

@anomous Congrats ! so they do get people off the waitlist even that late ^^’

Wow… i went over this whole thread to see what applying to McGill is like , Haha gonna have a fun time doing that in a couple of months

@Barekk If you are significantly above all minimum requirements you will fin out your decision early. If close to the minimum, it will take a while.

I have A’s in everything except english and mechanics so i guess i will be fine @TomSrOfBoston

But there is a month left for applications to roll out , so i guess in a month the waiting starts

I got accepted off the waitlist less than 2 weeks ago. Good luck guys!

Well , that took a while lol

@Barekk yep… Let’s hope you’ll get an early acceptance
