McGill Grad Placement

I am going to McGill to study Electrical Engineering in the fall..and I am planning to go to US for grad school in EE..i wonder how strong or how reputable McGill EE is in top grad school's ad officer's eyes...

Does anyone have any info on McGill EE placement at US grad schools???

I don't know about EE, but McGill is considered to give ivy-ligue education. Overall, highly valued in academia.

If you ar efrom U.S., and if you don't mind, what are your stats? I'm considering CA univ. fo S and can't find any stat.

The one engineering graduate from McGill I know went to Stanford for grad school, if that helps you...

From grad admissions stats I've seen, not many mcgill grads go into the elite grad schools. However, that might just be because the students there are less likely to apply for american graduate schools.

Obviously, if you look at specific grad schools in the US, you'll only see very small numbers of students coming from McGill. You have to consider that not every graduate goes to grad school (and McGill is not that big a school), and those who do have the possibility to go all over the world. My guess is a lot will go elsewhere in Canada, as studying abroad requires more hassles, and going to the US in particular involves doing exams like the GREs.

So, a more meaningful set of stats would be seeing where McGill students applied for grad school and where they got accepted/decided to go. From my own experience, I can tell you most of my peers who applied to elite schools had no problem getting accepted there (ending up in Harvard, Stanford, Johns Hopkins, MIT, Chicago, and Oxford (including 2 Rhodes scholars), just to name a few).
