Hello everyone, simple, quick question. I was wondering if anyone who applied for a major or even basic scholarship has heard anything from McGill, I know for a fact that all my materials have been sitting there for over a month and a half and so far not a word. Had to call them up to check that everything was there. Otherwise... just play the waiting game (along with waitlists! yay)

I found out that I was receiving my scholarship sometime in early March, although I don't believe that any date by which they would notify applicants was ever specified.

ardiar:

what sort of scholarship did you get if you dont mind me asking?

$10,000 Major. First I got a notice on Minerva that said "Initial Scholarship Offer $5,000," and then it changed to "Final Scholarship Offer $10,000." Good luck to anyone else waiting to hear.

Congratulations ardiar--That's a great accomplishment at McGill.

Thanks, swampfox.

I got my major scholarship a few days ago, but before that i got a letter saying they would make a decision before april 30th!

Just a question: I’m an IB student who thinks the requirements for even a basic scholarship (6.9 average in all IB classes) is ridiculous. You’d have to get all 7s to achieve that, which is something around 180 people out 15,000 IB test takers receive.

Is it possible to apply for a scholarship later on but with slightly less of a stellar record?

Blue, your absolutely right… it’s hard enough getting 6’s in HL subjects without that extra requirement… and also I think their are a lot more IB test takers, and a lot fewer perfect scores.

It is possible to apply for the scholarship, but then again the chances of you getting it would be lower. (I was predicted 41/42 excl. bonus points, but didn’t get one). Still, theres no harm in trying.
