McGill or Brandeis?

I got accepted by McGill and Brandeis, right now trying to decide which one to go to, espeically if i would like to persue in medicine. I know that Brandeis has a pretty good pre-med program, it has quite a high accpetance ratio into med-schools. McGill is also famous for its Faculty of Medicine. however, becuase under a different system they do not offer pre-med, instead a different degree. So right now i am very confused about which school to go to, also a bit confused about the McGill medical system...

Hm? I assume you were accepted into McGill's undergraduate program. Undergraduate studies at McGill should be pretty similar to any other American or Canadian university. You can major in any area you are interested in, and as long as you complete the pre-med courses, you can apply to medical school.

Also, pre-med is not a major at most universities; it is only a set of courses that must be completed before medical school.

What can be a little confusing is the fact that McGill calls their MD program an "undergraduate degree." In fact, I believe many Canadian medical schools call it an "undergraduate degree." That can be confusing/misleading, since we generally associate "undergraduate" with someone who is just starting university. What they mean by undergraduate, is that it's the I guess "first level" degree given by the faculty. You still need a Bachelor's degree before you can apply to the MD program.

Yes, thank you very much, that's exactly the part i am confused at, because in their webiste, it described that u need an MCAT score for that undergrad program...
However, i am aware there isn't a pre-med major, but unlike Brandeis, McGill doesn't seem mention anything about pre-med track, they do however have a "med-p" program only for Quebec citizens... so i am assuming they don't offer any guidance on pre-med? So is it better to do pre-med at Brandeis then? Thanks again!!

I am pretty sure I read somewhere, either on their website or in their guidebook, that they do have some sort of pre-med advising. Right now, I can't find anything on their website that says specifically "Premed Advising" but http://www.mcgill.ca/student-records/advising/types/ talks about the different types of advising avaliable, and the next page has the contact information for the different faculties. If you want to know for sure, I would email or call McGill and ask. Sorry, I'll keep on trying to find something.

i just got their guidebook, i'll look through it, thanks a lot, you've been VERY helpful!!
