Which is better? McGill or UofT in Art history?
Definitely McGill. Don’t go to UofT. I know many people who went there (although for sciences) and they’re all miserable. good luck.
I went to both universities (for two science degrees though), and yes, the social situation at McGill is better. I dont know much about the art history programs in particular at either of them but I know there are some major galleries close by both of the Universities (the Art Gallary of Ontario for UofT and the Musee de Beaux Arts for McGill). Both Toronto and Montreal have excellent smaller galleries in the cities as well (make sure to go out for Nuit Blanche in either city- early fall for Toronto and mid-winter for Montreal).
