I was wondering how people would rate McGill in the states. If you could just compare it (in prestige) to another uni (in the states or abroad) or provide some kind of range (#5-10, 30-50) thatd be appreciated.

As compared to US schools? Maybe 30-50.

What about UToronto?

I know McGill has a better international reputation (a larger international population too) but how does it compare with UofT?

University of Toronto and McGill are comparable to the top US Public schools like UCLA, Wisconsin-Madison and Texas-Austin. In other words, not quite top 10 but definitely top 30 in the US.

yeah you guys are on the ball

But sometimes I get the impression americans feel McGill is on the same level as Oxford or Cambridge...

McGills rep in the states is pretty overrated because schools like UofT UBC and Queens are comparable if not better.

I'd say the main reason McGill is so highly thought of is simply Montreal.
