Congratulations! I hope my son will be joining her. He’s been (quietly) tearing his hair out, but at least he’s apparently gotten past “Ready for Review” after months. They switched him to “Further Review Required” and asked for him to upload his AP scores on Wednesday (4/5/5/5)…so I think we may be getting close.
You all have been so supportive and I hope it works out for all the deserving class of 2021. The waiting is so hard- and McGill process is like no other - I will continue to follow this page and hoping for the best for all those waiting!
My son (US HS student) was admitted a couple of weeks ago. He had applied for the Major Renewable Scholarship, but it says ‘Not Rewarded’ in Minerva. He hasn’t heard anything about the first year Entrance Scholarship. Does this mean he will not be getting any scholarship $ from McGill? Do you hear about these at the same time as admission?
My son was given the First Year Entrance scholarship at time of admission, but is still waiting to hear about the Major Renewable Scholarship. Also from the US.
Congratulations!!
So happy for you! Congrats!
I called service point to ask about the entrance scholarship notification. They told me that all recipients would be notified by mid-April. Only those receiving scholarships will be notified.
Does anyone know how long waitlist could go at this point without knowing? I think my daughter will accept her offer for other faculty and accept waitlist offer for desaultes. I guess I just worry it could go until September which might affect class selections etc
Congratulations! I know you’ve waited a long time for a decision.
So happy for you! Congratulations!!!
I heard about the first year-entrance scholarship when I was admitted, but my major renewable scholarship application is still under review.
Yay! She’s in! Congratulations!!! That is such fantastic news. I hope you hear from Desautels very soon.
Yay! Hopefully they hit California for science next!
I’ve been ready for review for quite some time now, do you think that decisions might not roll out until mid-may even though the US decision day is May 1st? I’m worried
Congratulations!!
I think they will let you know before May 1, as May 1 is the date they want you to confirm by.
Good luck!
Hello all! I have a question regarding admission pending final results and potentially not taking AP exams this year. I have taken 9 AP exams so far (US History (4), Human Geo (5), World History (5), French Lang (5), Chemistry (5), Physics 1 (5), Biology (5), Environmental Science (5), Lang and Composition (5)). My school is offering only virtual exams this year, and the format for the exams virtually is quite frustrating. We will not be able to move back and forth between multiple choice questions or portions of FRQs. I worry that this change to the format may cause me to score lower than I would like and could jeopardize my offer of admission should I score poorly, but I also worry that not sitting for the exams could be equally detrimental. Does anyone have advice regarding whether it is better to score well in the classes and not sit for the exams or to take the exams and potentially perform worse than desired? Thank you so much!
That is a lot of AP exams you have taken! How many more are you scheduled to take?
I doubt if not taking the AP exams would affect admission, only potential advanced standing credit. You may want to call Service Point to confirm.
I am scheduled to take 7 this year.
Thank you for your answer. I assumed that may be the case, but I wanted to clarify. I will call Service Point as well and make sure. Have a great rest of your day!
Can you call service point and ask? Hopefully they could help explain requirements.
