McGill University Chances?

Hi! My absolute top school is McGill, and I am very concerned about acceptance… what do you think are my chances of getting in? Scholarship advice would be groovy too. Thank you so much.

I am looking to study Political Science, so I would be applying to the Faculty of the Arts.

I have an 98% for grades 9, 10 and 11.

EC’s:
Euro Challenge Regional Winners, participated in NYC national round
FLAGS (teaching french to fourth graders)
Math Team
Student Government
Marching Band/Band
Varsity Indoor and Outdoor Track (placed a couple of times in a state conference)
Literary Achievement Awards

High Honors for Freshman and Sophomore year (Took AP Bio and AP Euro in 10th grade)
Junior Year schedule:
AP Gov, French 4, AP Statistics, AP Language, Pre-calculus

I haven’t taken any SAT’s yet, and I’m not sure whether or not I should take the subject tests.

I plan applying to the National Honor Society, and I’ve received a couple of academic awards from teachers.

Thank you so much for the time, and any input would be greatly appreciated!

American applicants are required to submit the SAT I and two SAT II’s OR the ACT with writing.

@walkingantiques McGill is a numbers school. They care about your test scores and your gpa. That’s it. You don’t submit recs or essays for admission. They have scholarships that require recs and essays, but those are separate from admission.

They publish the previous year’s minimum admissions scores each year, so you can check those and see where you stand. If you’re above the minima, you’re in. It’s that simple.

@walkingantiques One quick clarification: the minimum scores can go up from one year to the next, so simply being at or above the previous year’s levels isn’t a guarantee of admission. But if you’re well above the previous year’s levels, you’re set.
