McGill University Class of 2012/2013

Hi I was accepted in early February into Education & Arts. I think I’m going to go into fac. of Arts though.
SAT: 2120, Math- 760 Reading- 670 Writing- 690
GPA 4.33 weighted
Rank: 3/176

I was wondering, is the acceptance rate lower or higher for U.S. kids?
Also any other kids from New Hampshire/east coast going?

Good luck to any of those still waiting.

i do not have any statistics but there is a wide consensus that it is significantly harder for an american applicant to get into mcgill. this is especially true for quebecois students. the quota system makes it MUCH easier for quebecois kids to get in.

McGill is a publicly funded university. As is the case in the US, it is easier for in state/in province students to be admitted than it is for out of state/out of province students.

Yeah, as Tom said, it is publicly funded, so it looks like students from Quebec do have an advantage. Next up would probably be out of province students. Then Americans/International.

Questions for you guys though…in my case, I’m a Canadian Citizen who finished my last 2 years of high school in the US. My first two years of HS were in Ontario. I’m not an American Citizen btw. Do you think McGill, for admission purposes, would group me with out of province students, or American/International students?

Residence rankings? anyone?
