I am planning to major in Electrical Engineering. Im a candian as well as an american citizen living in SoCal. I am trying to decide which one to go to. Pros and cons anyone?

UCLA for warm weather sports and hunnies.
McGill for cold weather sports and snow bunnies.

In all seriousness, do you plan to stay/return to Socal after graduation? If so, I’d choose UCLA.

I’m not sure where i want to end up, but i do plan on going to graduate school.

Mcgill… I wouldn’t go to either because both are big… but Mcgill’s international reputation is AS good as UCLA if not better and Montreal is a sick city. If you want warm weather, however, go with UCLA.

How is Montr

Montreal has something called culture. nuff said.

also, some people actually like the cold… I don’t … but many do. Weather is just one aspect of a city. the people, the night life, the culture etc. all of these matter. From what I hear, Montreal excels in all these categories.

Hey, McGill grad here, love winter and Montreal. I was just wondering what you meant by “sick city”.

McGill: tons of beautiful French-Canadian women
UCLA: nearly 50% Asian…lots of blondes among the rest.

Most guys would have a preferenc one way or the other.

by sick, I meant good city… wow, is “sick” and “good” not used synonymously anymore?

So does Los Angeles. UCLA is a hop and a skip from the Getty Center Art museum, plus it has its own art museums and concert halls. Los Angeles is also home to Walt Disney concert hall, home of the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Plus UCLA has great weather and is close to the beach. :)

Whichever one is cheaper (probably McGill if you are Canadian), unless you have a strong preference for life in one place or another. McGill is overall a slightly stronger school but engineering is not its best program - I would say that they are peers academically.

McGill would be cheeper.
I agree, Montreal is a “sick city”.
I think i will miss the beach, but I would probably come home for summer and the weather will be all the better I guess.
I think i will do graduate school here if I go to Mcgill.
