Hi! I got into Michigan in December into LSA, and McGill yesterday. Looking to major in poli sci and a science like bio or comp sci. I could also entertain the notion of applying to Ross, as it would be stupid not to at Michigan. I will be paying 13,000 more a year for Michigan (with aid). I like urban areas, but Ann Arbor aint too shabby. I like large universities where teaching can be personal and individualized. The most important thing for me is quality of education and employment opportunities that will follow. What would you recommend and why?
Neither Michigan nor McGill will have personalized and individualized teaching.
Yea the thing is, that’s the problem with most large schools. Furthermore, I am not sure how double majoring in two faculties would work out. Do you plan to go to graduate school?
I am also interested in both of these schools. McGill is very appealing to me because of the city, the science programs, and because it isn’t a liberal arts school. However, growing up in Michigan, i have a very glorified view of UofM which seems to rank much higher than McGill in most people’s esteem. Since I would like to go to medical school in America, I’m wondering if Michigan wouldn’t be a better option in terms of US medical school acceptance. I’ve also heard that uofm is extremely competitive and has some intense grade deflation (which also has been said about McGill.) I haven’t visited the Ann Arbor campus but I’ve been to the city and yeah it seems nice. Nothing compared to Montreal though.
