I am auditioning in a week or so for my top choice, McGill. I was wondering how difficult the faculty is when selecting their incoming freshmen. Also, I know that I have to sing (or at least prepare) 5 songs or arias of classical nature. Do you have to sing ALL 5 of them or do they make you do like 3?

We're heading up for a Monday audition...I'd love to hear from someone who has auditioned there vocally as well! Good Luck Jeremybeach!

Hi Jeremy... I replied to your previous post regarding the same question....

The panel will most likely hear less than the 5 selections, but they will choose which of the 5 they want to hear, so be sure to prepare them all.

Don't fret- who is your accompanist?

Lynette Wahlstrom

she is great, a masters student in vocal accompaniment.

How about Louise Pelletiere...my D has been in contact with her...she seems very nice.

louise is great- i regularly work with her :)

rideltrain, I'm just curious, are you going to be up at McGill during the 19th or 20th?

Thanks for all the info rideltrain!

Are the pianos at McGill tuned flatter/sharper/right on? I know at some schools the pianos tend to be tuned higher. Would the accompanists be sight reading the music at the audition?

can't speak to how the pianos are tuned, but they are certainly tuned :)

you should have been contacted by your accompanist, and/or given their contacts...
