<p>As the title says, which one is ranked the best? Right now I am wondering about Waterloo, becuase I am sure I heard of it before, but I do not know how it compares with the other two. I know McGill is > than UoT, but that's about it.</p>

<p>Waterloo is only good for mathematics/engineering programs. Everything else is mediocre.</p>
<p>McGill is the best overall, but Toronto isn’t far behind.</p>

<p>I do agree with Nosike on McGill being the best overall. HOWEVER!
McGill students are extremely competitive AND preppy. Most of them are graduates from Marianapolis (a very…I’d say prestigious cegep in Quebec) and most kids are very rich and spoiled.
Also, you should consider the fact that Montreal (where McGill is) has poor public transportation, high sales tax (15%!!!), and it is generally expensive to live in. (they have great clubs and lounges though! and drinking age is 18!)</p>
<p>Moving on to University of Toronto:
Okay, it is ranked as one of the top in Canada. It has three different campuses: St.George (Downtown campus), Scarborough (to the west), and Mississauga (east).
St.George has SEVEN colleges to choose from and Trinity college is the hardest to get into. (it also has bunch of secret societies and the students have dinner in suits and stuff)</p>
<p>Now, Waterloo. Yes, it does have fantastic science/engineering programs. However! Waterloo has the BEST CO-OP PROGRAMS IN CANADA.
I know that Americans aren’t familiar with co-op programs. They’re pretty much programs that allow you to work for a company and study simultaneously. That way, you won’t be on any debt by the time you graduate.
Plus, the campus is gorgeous. </p>
<p>I really think you shouldn’t base your choice of university only based on whether its prestigious or not.
Consider carefully (ex.student life, location, weather, transportation, dining, and housing) and good luck!</p>
<p>PS I’m a Montrealer and know lots of people who work at McGill and other univs. So you can rely on me. :)</p>
<p>^^^ My guess is that you are a Concordia student who was denied admission to McGill.</p>
<p>Also, coop was invented at the University of Cincinnati and is quite widespread in the US. Waterloo didn’t come up with the idea.</p>

I didn’t say that Waterloo came up with the idea. About 50% of the Waterloo students take co-op options.</p>

Marianoplis graduates less than 1000 students per year. McGill admits more than 6000 students per year. Even if every Marianoplis student went to McGill, that would hardly constitute their graduates making up most McGill students.</p>
<p>Since you say you are a high school student in Montreal but are applying to university (from your posting history) you must be a 12th grade student at LCC or some other private school, which would mean hat your parents are rich too. </p>
<p>Good luck with Penn and Chicago! You will find a lot of rich and spoiled students there too.</p>

<p>Waterloo is awesome for math, CS, and engineering. Except maybe on the US eastern seaboard, I’m not really convinced that McGill is more prestigious than UofT. Both are excellent all-around.</p>
