Honestly, I never thought they seemed quite so desperate. I kind of felt like a fairytale princess with lots of suitors, many of whom did not interest me (and of these, I knew many would not hesitate to lose interest in me if they found out more about me/received an application). I knew that especially the selective places probably weren’t writing to me because they wanted anything more than a bigger application pile.
