Hi, I’m interested in doing a combined MD/MBA program, and I was wondering whether it is possible to get into one from a BS/MD program. Is it possible? Or is it advisable to just have to go back to school after residency to complete the MBA?
Union College has the Leadership in Medicine Program (LIM). The program requires a interdisciplinary major, one half of the major is in Bio or Chemistry and then the other half is in the humanities or social sciences. While doing undergrad you are required to take classes over the summer which will eventually result in you receiving an MBA in Healthcare Management by the time you enter Albany Medical college, which is where you will receive your MD. The requirements for the program are a overall 3.5 GPA, and a 3.5 GPA in Math & Science, along with completing a certain number of hours in health related experiences. If all these requirements are met then you matriculate into Albany Medical College right after graduation from Union College. BTW I’m attending this program in the fall, hope to see you apply when your going through the admissions process.
