i was just wondering do MD/MBA programs waive work experience for people applying to them? I've heard different things. I've heard that it is extremely tough to get into the MBA program (assuming ur into the med school) initially without work experience but the students already in the MD program have a much better chance of getting into the business school (without the work requirement)?

Think about the medical school sequence. At what point do people have time to stop schooling to get business experience. I don’t think they stop. So there’s your answer…

There’s a med student at my interview session. So I think if you are a med student, the work experience is waived. This is at Duke, which has the best healthcare management program and have incentive to accept healthcare field students. I don’t know if this is true elsewhere.

My interviewer was an MD and there are a few physicians in this year’s admitted students.

I don’t know how WE is treated if you are applying for med school and b-school at the same time.
