Md/mba

Hello everybody. I am new here and I have to say, I have learned a lot from reading about others. I plan to double major to get an md and mba. Does anyone know good schools in both medicine and buisness. Also are there good programs for this. Thank you again in advance

Uh, these are graduate programs you are talking about. When you're in graduate school, you generally don't choose a "major". Instead, your program implicitly defines what you are 'majoring' in. For example, medical students are, by definition, majoring in medicine.

Are there good schools for MD/MBA programs? Yes, there are many. Basically, any school that has both a good medical school and a good business school may offer the opportunity to pursue a joint degree. You generally have to get admitted to both programs first, and then you submit an extra petition to combine the two.

wait is this after 4 years undergrad? I was wondering if there were any programs that are straight from high school

also what schools are good for both buisnsess and medicine undergrad

no its impossible...U can take Buisness undergrad but med school no u need to take PRemed requirements b4 u go to MED school

ok so are there good schools that are good in both premed and buisness?

WC,

There are many schools that have excellent reputations in both business and pre-med. Nearly any school that has a well respected medical school will also have a good pre-med program. Sakky listed several, you should probably take a look at them.

I think you may want to slow down a little bit, however. Both an MD and an MBA require several years (four and two, respectively) to earn, and that is after four years of undergraduate work (plus years of professional experience for the MBA).

Furthermore, while combining a business major with a pre-med track is certainly feasible, it won't be easy. The two programs generally share very few courses, so you will have to essentially complete two majors.

You may want to compare some school's business major requirements with the pre-med requirements and see if you think it is a route you are interested in. If you desire such a combination, you should expect to spend an extra year in undergrad, unless you plan on taking 19 houts a semester or matriculating with quite a bit of extra credit.

I hope this helps, please let us know if you have any more questions.
