Me, too!

Hey burntpiano, I just got my acceptance letter in the mail today! I applied RD, so it's quite a surprise to be hearing so soon. Wow. This is making me feel like I'm really moving on and getting older. Creepy, huh?

An RD acceptance already? Holy crap, I better go check my mail!

liquidpaper, will you go to Carleton?
did you get $?

Haha, Carleton is so early with everything. They sent my ED acceptance 10 days early, and your acceptance is a month early! You should definitely consider going to one of the two Accepted Students Weekend in early April. The school will be sending out more information later this month. I wonder if everyone is receiving notification. But, congratulations and I hope you'll join me at Carleton in the fall!

Woah, congrats liquidpaper! Which state do you live in?

congratulations liquidpaper
What's the Accepted Student Weekend thing? I haven't heard anything about it.

Well, thanks guys, the Carleton board is so caring! :) To answer your q's:

1)Yes I got some fin aid, but it's not that great (parents make too much)
2)I'm from Minnesota
3)Accepted Students Days is where you basically spend a week experencing Carleton: sitting in on their classes, staying at the dorms, eating their food, etc.

Hope that helps...

a girl from my school was already accepted and i still haven't heard..do you guys think this is bad news?

I don't think so. They may have gotten to her application first. Even if that's not the case, you still have a shot at getting in. Early notification is not for everyone...

i got my acceptance in the mail today. probably wont attend though...grinnell would be cheaper and i still havent heard from my top 6 schools. oh well...

Ack, now I am disappointed, and very anxious.. to those who got early notification, would you consider Carleton a safety/match school for you?

not sure, id say match. my sat was 1490, gpa-3.8uw, top 4%, club leadership, varsity track, not that much really.

wow, that's super early. think they'll send rejection letters just as fast? eep, i'm being pessimistic...positive visualization, positive visualization

i hope i get in!! although i'm not so sure about minnesota...

I, myself, considered Carleton a reachy match.

I got the early notification too. The letter made it sound like most acceptees wouldn't be notified until April, so there's no reason to be nervous if you didn't get it, I think.

Anyway, I guess Carleton was more or less a match for me. . . I had 1530 SATs, and a pretty good transcript. It's not my first choice, but I'd be perfectly happy to go there.

Hey guys! I got accepted and I'm so happy especially after being deferred from Rice. Carleton was a match for me. I'm really considering going to the Accepted Students Weekend, but I want to see where else I get in. I got quite a bit of financial aid, but it makes sense since my parents don't make that much.

Carleton mails their acceptance letter so early? I'm an international student and applied for the starr scholarship. Sigh. Guess I got rejected :x

Oh, don't worry. The people, who have got their acceptances, got their's early. Normal acceptances are coming out in April. You still have time to receive anything.

My theory is that the students who are accepted early are National Merit Finalists that Carleton wants to let them know early to get them to designate the school. 09ers who applied RD and have received word: were you a NMF?
