nope. not even close.

hahahaha. That's good. Are you here all week?

i wasnt a finalist either. . . but i was commended.

i was a finalist...and no letter for me (from anywhere :( ). i don't think ntl mrt means as much as it's hyped to be.

AHHHH i take it back! i just got my acceptance letter today. i'm so happy! :D :D :D

hmm...i'm a finalist too, so maybe if i complain about it today i'll get my letter the next day like ariadne.

So here goes: hey, I'm a finalist and i haven't gotten a letter yet, what's the deal, come on i thought national merit was supposed to be a big deal!

Ok, i bet my letter's on it's way now!

The other thing about that, as I'm assuming most of you know, is that Carleton give money to National Merit Finalists. It doesn't matter for me, though, because apparently you're only eligible for one scholarship through National Merit, and I'm getting one from my mom's company that's a little better.

Really? Do you know about how much money?

You get $2000 per year. It is the only merit aid Carleton gives. All you have to do is send in Carleton as your first choice school to the NMSC by May 30 and they'll give you the money. This is for all finalists.

Also, if you are a National Merit Scholar, they will give you $2000 a year after the initial $2500 from the NMSC.

I am NMF, no letter yet..

Big or little envelope?

big envelope for me

Yea, she got home, "Sorry but...." oh well. What are your stats?

Sorry to hear about the rejection, SRMom3 - my son is also waiting, and it's really nerve racking. I'm sure your D will have many options in other (warmer) locations!

SRMom3, where do you live?

Chicago suburbs

SRMom3, when was the letter dated and what is the postmark date on the envelope?

Thanks and condolences.
