Me, too!

I live in Texas, and the letter was dated March 18, 2005. It was also postmarked March 18, 2005. Hope that helps!

readytoleavehs:

Obviously you have many strong qualities to overcome less than stellar scores. Do you also provide diversity in some special way?

Yeah I'm African-American but I think my hook was that I've been studying Japanese since I was 14 years old, and am really interested in Asian and Middle Eastern Studies

Great! Your Japanese will be valued there; most people do a semester abroad, which a lot of students do in the Far East.

Are you planning to attend? I think it's a wonderful place. I hope my Daughter attends. She got accepted today.

I'm really not sure yet. I mean I know I should be thankful that I got in, but Minnesota....ehh...anyways congratulations to you and your daughter. If I do go I definitely will do a semester abroad.

middle east? i'm totally interested in studying abroad there. do you know any specifics about the program?

p.s. congrats!

Yayyy! I checked my email today and I'm in! Starr Int'l Scholar too! It was dated March 18th but then they said in the email that "Hello _____, we have sent a decision letter to you today (As in March 24th) and you should receive that soon but we didn't want you to have to wait any longer for the good news." Ooooh! I'm sooo happy! I'm still waiting on several but so far Carleton's package seems unbeatable! $30,000, tickets, insurance, etc. :)
Btw, I know that Starr Scholars have to participate in the Cross-Cultural Studies program. Anyone know anything about it? Thanks!

How does Carleton College pronounce its name, Carl-ton or Car-le-ton?

It's pronounced "Carl-ton."

I got accepted, plus a $30,000 package! It looks like I really am better than everyone!

what were ur stats

Great. Now I'm nervous and confused. So some rejections have been sent, along with acceptances and waitlists. They really are doing this in random order, I guess. I'm from Pennsylvania and havent heard anything yet. I'm so nervous. What were some of your stats? I have a 31 on ACT and I am an A's and B+'s type of student, with a rigorous schedule. I'm also involved in tons of extra cirriculars and sports. Plus, I heard being from the east coast is a good thing. Is that true? PLEASE RESPOND!!!

YESSS I GOT IN!!!!!

I am from NY and the letter was also postmarked the 18th... toook way to long to get here.

WOOHOO after getting waitlisted at haverford I started to doubt my chances here but I am glad I was wrong.

I am in as well! (California) But I don't have enough fin aid to go there.. UC's are still far more cheap. :< Oh well.

Yes! I got my acceptence letter today as well! OMG I love all of you!

I'm in......yooohooooo!!!!!!

ok, so everyone is replying that they heard and got in.. can someone please answer my question? im getting worried

I was accepted earlier this month. I have straight As with a rigourous courseload, and thought my essay was creative. I run, play frisbee, lettered in nordic skiing, and volunteer over the summer. I'm from Alaska, and I'm a Chinese / Black / Swede / Scot.
Don't know if that helps.

Well, I got in RD and I'm in the top 10% of my class with 1470 SAT, OK SAT II's, I'm a national merit finalist, and I've taken lots of AP classes, played varsity tennis, some other activities. I think my rec letters were really good, that probably helped a lot. Oh, and I'm from Bellevue, WA

From Alaska.. mm... should I be concerned? I have a 31 on my ACTs, my school unfortunately doesnt rank or give GPA. I am President of 3 clubs, I am an artist, I take a few AP classes, currently taking 7 classes in total including 2 lab sciences, I am a community service board member, I play 2 varsity sports, I have had many work experiences, I have traveled for community service projects during the summer, and I volunteer at local schools and hospitals. I am a strong writer and have won awards for my writing. I didn't submit my SAT II's because I didnt want my SAT I scores to show, but I got a 720 on writing and a 680 on math... I'm from the suburbs outside of Philadelphia, so obviously I'm not from the mid west. Does this help? EVALUATE ME! oh, yea. I had an interview too.
