Incoming junior as well. Tbh, reading this, I laugh a bit bc I remember when I was like this. I obsessed over the Harvard forum. If you spend enough time on this site, you will quickly see that the ivies are not the end all be all. I plan on applying to 2 (Harvard, Penn) or 3 (Harvard, Penn, Columbia) ivies, but it’s just that. I’m not obsessing over them, just applying, and seeing where that goes. It will not be the end if I don’t get into one. Even if I get in, I might not go. I’m applying to 12 schools (6-Reaches, 4-Matches, 2-Safeties), and I would be happy at any one of those. You should adopt this mindset. With a 3.75 GPA, you might as well try if you want, but the odds of getting into an ivy are not in your favor (unless you are hooked). Since you’ve made it you sole goal in life to get into one, you will be REALLY disappointed if you don’t. Not getting in is already likely with a 4.0 and good SAT score, so how do you think it is with a 3.75? Even I’m not expecting to get in, and I will have a 3.85, 2200 SAT (hopefully), and I’m a URM female. But the difference here is that I REALIZE not getting into an ivy isn’t the end. You need to see this too. There are PLENTY of other good schools in the US.
