do these necessarily break an application?? like fe my list goes as follows (roughly):
Chess HS Blitz Champion for New York State
5-time junior champion at local chessc lub
Mensa:member of 2 SIGs
Math League two years (#1 both years)
AMCs 103 junior year
i know this is pretty meager, but can it reasonably be compesnasated for by good acxademics, etc. very high test scores and stuff???

and piano 4 8 years

What type of schools are you aiming at? For many schools, you will be fine. For the most competitive, may be a bit meager but you do show passion for chess which may compensate. Make sure your essays highlight your interests if possible.
