Meal Plan Problems

My daughter will be in her second year at FSU in the fall and will again be living in Landis. We knew that she would have to get a meal plan again, and we planned to get the 125 block one that she had last year. She didn't eat all the meals, but that was the smallest one offered. However, when we looked at the Fall 2011 meal plans they had changed them and gotten rid of the smaller plans. This doesn't seem fair to me. If we had known this, she might have requested a different dorm. Has anyone ever gotten an exception made in the size of their meal plan? I know they do this for girls in sororities, but how about for other students? Any suggestions or ideas would be appreciated!

Your best bet is to email them. The meal plan options changed quite a bit this year, so there’s really no precedent. I don’t know of anyone that was able to get a reduced meal plan, with the exception of greek life.

It is unfair, but they’re actually doing you a “slight” favor. The 125 block plan was the biggest ripoff plan they had in terms of price per meal (meals were more with the plan than if you bought them separately).
