Meal Plan

I’ve heard that most students at Brandeis use the 12 Meal Plan (with $850 points). I’ve heard from family members that it’s best to go with a meal plan that has a lot of points, but I’m used to eating 3 meals a day, so I’m worried that this plan will be insufficient.

I know that the points on your meal plan can be used at Einsteins Bagels and the small grocery store on campus, but is there anywhere else? Can points be used in place of meals (for example, if I eat all my allotted meals before the week ends, could I use my points to get food from the dining hall)?

Hey @svnshine, as a current Brandeis student I can tell you that there’s a ton of places one can use points other than Einsteins and the C-Store (what we call our convenience store). Points can be used in our “food court” area, which includes a SubConnect (similar to Subway, and meals or points can be used here), a Curritos (similar to Chipotle), Louis Deli (basically a deli with ton of sandwich options, soups, and hotdogs). You can also use points at the Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts located on campus. To answer your last question, yes, you can use points to get into the dining halls if you run out of meals. The amount of points it costs to swipe into the dining hall depends on what meal of the day it is, with dinner being the most expensive.

I do agree that the 12 meals a week is the best plan. Points can be used to eat anywhere while meal swipes can’t be used at every place. I feel like this allows for more options because it always sucks when people run out of points and can’t get something where everyone else wants to eat.
