<p>So I have the Flex 5 plan and all my friends that are going to UCR are like "Get flex max", "it's worth it", etc and I don't know if I should really change from Flex 5 to Max. How much more is it per quarter and does financial aid cover for it? What are the pros and cons of Flex 5 and Flex Max?</p>
<p>flex 5, you only get 750 dining dollars + 5 meals per week
while flex max g ives you around 3750 i think
but flex 5 is also a lot cheaper
i’m not sure but i think over 1500 cheaper
everyone i asked said flex 5 was alright
then again they were girls (counselors)
but i don’t eat that much anyways</p>
<p>oh and they said get flex max if you’re gonna be eating all day
but that just means you’re gonna get a freshman 50</p>
<p>woot, Mr. Ho, you are on top of ur game!
if you click around housing, or search the threads for the link, there is a .pdf that has all the pricing for the different flexes</p>
<p>Jaesango, Mehedi- What plans did you guys get/or are getting? And what did you think? Too much? Too little?</p>
<p>i remember mehedi telling everyone to get flex max</p>
<p>i got flex 5
right now i’m thinking it’ll be enough
i eat roughly 2 meals a day (lunch, dinner) and they’re both pretty small and i want to keep it that way
plus, i bought chewy bars, lots of ramen (HELL YES) and popcorn haha
the ramen will be my lunch and dinner when i run out of dollar points</p>
<p>That’s suicide with the ramen. Tons of MSG, but very delicious indeed. I’m starting to think that $300 extra per quarter would not beat the $300 cash that I would have from financial aid, spend it wherever I want, and whenever I need to. Thanks for reminding me again. lol</p>
<p>yeah, just use your own cash
it’s better than having tons of money left at the end and going to the Cstore and wasting it on twinkies and donuts
i’d rather save it up and use it for books</p>
<p>Yup, we PWN the system. In a way. lol</p>
<p>with the flex 5 you get like 750 dining dollars, so you can eat at the restaurants. then when THAT runs out break out the ramen, easymac, and anything else you just add water to hahah</p>
<p>don’t forget to bring spoons and forks. Maybe chopsticks also. I bet the water is filthy though.</p>
<p>Thats why you boil the water first.</p>
<p>There’s still going to be a strong bacterial odor</p>
<p>brita
10 char</p>
<p>The water won’t kill you. It’s not like they are imported straight from African wells.
They’re the same tap water that comes out of your drinking fountain. There aren’t any “filters” on those drinking fountains for those who didn’t know =D</p>
<p>many college students buy the brita or pur water filter, others are lazy and buy tons of 24paks of bottled water. ive been both those students, lol. </p>
<p>Flex max is worth it if you know how to use it… Seriously!!!RAWR!!
if you not going to take advantage of it, then don’t get it, you’ll end up like the many ****** (i actually typed **'s) who have 100s of dinningdollars leftover and raid the cstore for a sugerhigh! I never had to do that because I used up my dds within the year. </p>
<p>I’ve had Flexmax and FlexGlenMor.</p>
<p>Il use them all. I love to eat plus I played football so I burnt alot of calories and plan on playing bball and on hitting the gym everyday. Arnie here I come</p>
<p>I have flex10 meal plan but I don’t really know what that means. Could someone please explain?</p>
<p>"I have flex10 meal plan but I don’t really know what that means. Could someone please explain? "</p>
<p>Did you read what it was before you chose that plan? but anyways its 10 meal per week plus some dining dollars</p>
<p>I think i picked flex 7 or something. I read what it means but i forgot. Its confusing. Im assuming that means 7 meals a week? So one meal a day? </p>
<p>But what constitutes a meal? </p>
<p>They best not give me a salted slice of bread and send me on my way!! Revenge will be mine!</p>
<p>@<a href="mailto:@">@</a>… i know i am 100% repeating myself here. </p>
<p>the number on the flex tells you how many meals you can have on a given week. the number does not carry over from week to week. there are a total of 33 weeks in the school year. each week has the following number of meals: M-F breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Sat-Sun, brunch and dinner. So all in all, there is 19 meals that are offered during the week. You have to keep track of how many meals you have left.
If you run out, the person who swipes your card will let you know, and you can use your dining dollars if you still want to go in and eat. Breakfast is $5.75 something, lunch is $7.25 something, and dinner is $8.25 (if i remember correctly).
Your number of meal swipes only work at certain locations that include the residential restaurants (res-rurants, get it?) at AI and Lothian, Logos located in west lo(quick subs and other goodies), and Spanilies located within Lothian’s res-rurant for lunch (pizza and other goodies). The res-ruants have good food, its all you care to eat, and self serve buffet style. however, when you eat mass produced good food from the same chefs for so long, you get sick and tired of it. But seriously, I ate at Lothian today after a long time… and it was guuud-ya!
Dinning dollars, as ill call dd, are a certain number of legal tender for trade within dinning services. (means its cash for dinning foo!) dds can be used at the c-store, as mentioned above for res-rurants if you run out of meals, at logos, spenllies, taco fresco, THE BARN!, all of the restaurants within the hub, the soon to be opened coffee bean and jamba juice.
There is your slice of bread homesliceeeee! =D</p>
