Meal Plans For Upperclassman

Hi,

Anyone here who is an upperclassman? I am wondering what meal plan to take next year. I will be in 13th Street. It has a kitchen and I wonder if I should take only the 5 meals a week. Do people really cook and use their kitchens? Or should I take a larger meal plan? Does it come out more expensive shopping at the food stores in NYC?

Any input is appreciated.

don't do meal plans. None of your friends will ever go to dining halls, and when they do its kimmel. Meal plans are a waste of money, its MUCH cheaper to just use campus cash (you dont pay tax) whenever eating in a dining hall than using a meal plan. The average meal when paying with cash is $6-7 whereas if you are using a 10 a week meal plan, it comes out to over $9 per meal when you calculate it out (plus you wont use every meal every week, make the price per meal even higher). the declining dollars dont come close to making up for this. It's price guaging on account of students stupidity, they should be sued.

If your in one of the dorms with kitchens, you don't have to take a meal plan?

correct.........
