There are 12 meal plans to choose from for on campus students. Does anyone have any recommendations? Do you just "wing it" and then change if it doesn't meet your needs? Would like to hear from anyone about meal plans even if they attend another university. Thanks

anybody?? please?? lol im curious too i have no idea what to pick

i took unlimited but it might be worth it to do something w/ more points

Okay, here's what they told me when I called dining services. You have to decide what type of eater you are. Eating in the dining hall means you eat there and can't take anything out. If you're the type to "grab and go" then you will need more points. My D is concerned about the "freshman 15". The deli type places on campus serve some good healthy meals. (We ate at one during our tour.) I'm not sure about the food in the dining halls and would love to hear from a present student about that. I was also told that you have about 2 weeks to switch your plan. After the 2 week period, it will cost you $50 to switch to a different meal plan. So it looks like there is some flexibility. My D picked the 185 meal plan with the most points. It's hard to figure out until you actually start living on campus. Hope this helps.

While visiting the campus, we asked several students about the meal plans. The consensus was to take the unlimited plan. The students told us that since everyone's eating habits are different, it is hard to know ahead of time which plan is best. They suggested that the unlimited plan was best to start with; see how it works out, then decide if you need more points etc. depending on how you actually use the plan. They said it was fairly easy to switch plans.

if you haven't chosen a meal plan already, the unlimited meal plan has automatically been selected for you. it costs $50 to switch your meal plan at any time during the semester, and meals and points are not transferable from semester to semester. just some info i figured i'd pass on. =]

A great magazine article to help inform you all!
