Are the meal swipes good only in the residence hall dining facilities or do they apply to the other campus eateries as well?

No, you have to convert your meal plan swipe into "credit" if you want to eat at an on-campus eatery. Not worth it, in my opinion.

Credit of like $1.65.

How do we switch it into credits?

You go to the front desk of your dorm and request a "ticket"- they'll deduct a swipe from your account and give you some significantly reduced ticket (not worth it IMO).

oh so the meals swipes are only cafeteria/residence hall food not oncluding the other eateries on campus.

so i guess the 14 premier is a good enough choice, (premier only cuz of the pizza program) cuz i know i would wanna eat out every once in a while too.

If you wanted to use your swipe for the on campus eateries, they have to support the meal ticket to begin with (which I think they all do, but not sure), and the worth of the ticket is $1.65 (significantly less than what you can normally swipe at the eateries or cafeteria) so you'd be paying the difference after subtracting that 1.65 from your total cost.

Oh, now I see what you mean about it not being worth it. Thanks!

yeah i get that, i just thought that you can use the swipe itself fo nay meal on campus, but now i know that you can't.
Thats why i was telling my parents to thik about the 19 premier plan, but i know me i don't sticl to the ordinary and i will be eating out no matter what so i was just that considering this stuff, 14 premier would be good for me.

wow wireless keyboards suck, do you guys get wat i am saying up there cuz it skipped words, maybe cuz of low battery.

or should i type it again????????????/

It's not that you can't, it's that its not very economically smart (i.e. you can spend 1 swipe on 2 yogurts at Puzzles as well, but this probably amounts to $1.50 vs a swipe for the buffet type meal that costs probably 9x as much).

19 premier IMO tends to be too excessive, unless you know you'll have lots of starving friends in the apartments that you're going to swipe in, or if you know that you'll be eating 3 times a day and 2 times every weekend, because otherwise you'll just sit on top of a pile of swipes at the end of the quarter which goes to waste (you can swipe for 2 drinks per swipe at the end of the quarter, but again this isn't worth it). 14 premier should be fine- I usually still wind up with at least 30 swipes going to waste at the end of every quarter.

yeah, but there is no other premier plan less than 14. and i really like the pizza deal thats why i want the premium meal plan.
Aren't the meal plans only a couple of hundred bucks different from each other and thats annual. i might be underminig the value of the hundred dollars here, but i spent most of my life in india where the currency values are different and a hundred buck is nothing.

The pizza deal is ok. It's 4 swipes for a pizza and a six-pack of soda.

The credit coupon thing is ok if you're going to lose swipes at the end of the quarter anyways and you are going to eat on campus regardless.

if i could choose my meal plan over again, id definitely pick the smallest 1 -> 11 basic, because you begin to eat unnecessarily just cuz u have swipes left for the week... so go w/ the smallest 1 , plus, its nice to eat down in westwood , or order something and they'll come by , ( save u a bunch of money , not to mention weight)
