Meals at Harvard

I know the topic of meals have been brought up before, but I wanted to be clear on how it works. Am I right in this...

(1) All freshmen eat in Annenberg hall for all 3 meals. Set times
(2) There are no major selections. students pick up what they want from what is served and they sit anywhere they want in the dining hall.
(3) They scan their card when they enter the dining hall.
(4) This is done for all 3 meals, breakfast, lunch and dinner.

question - I heard that it was basically all you can eat per meal. Is this true? if not, do you have to scan your card again if you would like seconds?

Thanks in advance

Yes, once you enter the dining hall you have unlimited access to both the dining hall and serving areas. Even if you leave, it's unlimited swipes if you want to come back, so no worries.

Yes meals are restricted to certain times.

And you didn't ask this specifically, but your #1 leaves sort of an ambiguous impression: freshman are not required to eat in Annenberg, they have access to all houses except Adams (because it's closer to the Union dorms than Annenberg so all the Union kids were eating there instead). Annenberg is called the freshman dining hall because no upper classmen are allowed to eat there, not because the freshman are forced to.

What's the Annenberg dining hall schedule like compared to that of the upperclass houses? I'm hoping the upperclass dining schedule could cover any gaps the freshman one might have - what if you have class close or over the designated dining hours?

Pretty much all the dhalls have the same hours. You can check HUDS: Residential Dining for more info (HUDS Residential Dining home page)

thanks for you info :)
