<p>I’m sure you will get better suggestions tomorrow from more experienced members. But if the money on your FAFSA is clearly too low for you to live in a home and eat, then they need to understand how you meet your basic need and verify that is or is not supposed to be reported. That is called a discrepancy and they are required to inquire and resolve it. So I would start to gather a list of your household expenses and proof of how you meet that so that it all adds up. It doesn’t matter if they are official sources of income, they just need to know. If you have money from the state then there should be a record. If there is money from grandmother, then describe the amount and frequency, list the amount and frequency from the state. I don’t know if these are considered foster children or what but if they aren’t mentioned anywhere then you can include that. So what would go on is how you get money to live, anything not on your fafsa.</p>
